According to sources familiar with the matter, Anthropic PBC has decided to walk away from a deal to acquire the artificial intelligence startup Decart AI. The sources indicated that Anthropic had been pursuing the transaction and conducted due diligence on Decart, but ultimately chose not to proceed with the acquisition. The sources requested anonymity because the information is not public.
One of the individuals noted that the two companies may still explore other avenues for collaboration. Representatives for both Anthropic and Decart declined to comment on the matter. Last month, reports emerged that Anthropic had been in talks to purchase Decart for roughly $6 billion, but a final agreement was never reached, leaving the possibility that the deal could collapse. Decart develops software designed to enhance chip efficiency, thereby reducing the costs associated with training and running artificial intelligence models.
