On September 11, the nonferrous metals sector on the Hong Kong stock market led the downturn, with shares of Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd. (HKG: 00358) and MMG Ltd (HKG: 01208) each falling more than 8%.

Following closely, CMOC Group Limited (HKG: 03993) and China Nonferrous Mining Corporation Limited (HKG: 01258) both dropped over 7%, while Zijin Mining Group Company Limited (HKG: 02899) declined more than 6%.

Additionally, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) (HKG: 02600) and Ganfeng Lithium Group Co., Ltd. (HKG: 01772) each shed over 5% during the trading session.

The broad-based selloff across the sector underscores a risk-off sentiment among investors, with most major metal producers trading in negative territory.
