A viral online claim that a young woman from Jiangxi lost her entire family's subsistence allowance after traveling to Hong Kong for a concert has prompted an official response from local authorities.
The Social Affairs Administration Bureau of Ganzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone issued a statement on September 7, confirming they have formed a special task force to investigate the matter.
The bureau clarified that the woman in question, identified as a resident surnamed Huang, triggered a dynamic monitoring alert for subsistence allowance recipients when she independently traveled to Hong Kong to attend a concert. Community officials subsequently reached out to her family to explain the relevant policies and provide a reminder about the regulations.
According to the statement, the family members, worried that the trip might lead to the cancellation of their allowance, posted the information online in hopes of seeking assistance. The authorities have stated that they are currently reviewing the family's situation and will handle the case in accordance with laws and regulations once the investigation is complete.
