On September 9th, the 27th China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE) kicked off at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. At booth 2A in Hall 2, Luxshare Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (LUXSHARE ICT) officially launched the industry's first ultra-compact full-color LCoS binocular AR glasses—the Lark Air. This product is the fruit of collaborative R&D between LUXSHARE ICT, Appotronics Corporation Limited, a pioneer on the STAR Market, and Mundena, an emerging innovator in micro-optics, showcasing a true synergy across the industrial chain.
As a headline exhibit at this year's expo, the Lark Air's core display engine is supplied by Appotronics. With a monocular volume of just 0.25cc, this engine delivers 1,500 nits of perceived brightness under a 100% APL (full-screen white) condition. It strikes an optimal balance among miniaturization, power consumption, and display performance, effectively tackling the long-standing challenge of reconciling lightweight design with high image quality in AR glasses. Currently, consumer-grade AR glasses remain constrained by limitations in size, power draw, and brightness, with the micro-display engine being the critical bottleneck for lightweight adoption. The launch of the Lark Air validates the feasibility of small-volume LCoS solutions in binocular AR systems, charting a new technical path for evolving AR glasses toward the form factor of everyday eyewear. This breakthrough is poised to accelerate the large-scale commercialization of AR terminals.
