Sudo Technology's Han Zheng: High Success Rates Are the Prerequisite for Most Embodied AI Commercial Deployments

At the 2026 Inclusion·Bund Conference, held from September 9 to 12 at the Shanghai Huangpu Expo Park under the theme "Co-creating the New AI Economy," Sudo Technology co-founder and CEO Han Zheng shared his perspective on the commercial future of embodied intelligence. He stated that robots in research and commercial settings face requirements similar to those of early industrial robots and automated equipment: a high success rate is the fundamental prerequisite for commercial deployment in most tasks.

Han Zheng observed that within the current testing phase, only 1 to 5 out of every 100 tasks can tolerate an 80% success rate with room for secondary error correction. The remaining 90-plus tasks, whether executed on the first attempt or requiring rapid fault recovery, almost universally demand near-100% success rates.

He further noted that, under this premise, the key distinction from traditional automated equipment lies in the robot's ability to generalize across diverse objects and environments, and it must achieve this without relying on prohibitively expensive post-training costs. Otherwise, every new deployment scenario would require extensive custom tuning and risk overfitting. The keynote speaker earlier in the session also touched upon this issue.

"Therefore, advancing commercialization places the greatest challenge squarely on the algorithm level: we must achieve high success rates while preserving generalization capabilities. Looking ahead, we will inevitably face hurdles in equipment reliability, maintenance services, and other unavoidable aspects," Han Zheng concluded.
