TYK Medicines-B (02410) saw its shares climb sharply this morning, jumping more than 9% in early trading. As of the latest update, the stock was up 9.7% at HK$2.94, with trading turnover reaching HK$9.63 million.

According to a company announcement from the previous evening, Chairman, Executive Director, and President Wu Yusheng informed the board that between the 8th and 10th of this month, he purchased 635,000 H-shares in the open market. This acquisition represents approximately 0.17% of the company's total issued share capital, at a total cost of roughly HK$2.09 million.

The company stated that Wu Yusheng has indicated he may continue to buy shares based on market conditions in the future. It is currently anticipated that the total amount of further share purchases will not exceed HK$3 million. Wu noted that the funds for these share acquisitions come from his own personal resources. This additional stake increase reflects his strong belief in and full confidence in the group's future growth prospects.

Adding to the positive momentum, late last month, TYK Medicines-B announced that its independently developed next-generation EGFR-TKI innovative drug, Mesilate Desu Ai Tenib Tablets (TY-9591), had received conditional market approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The approved indication is for first-line treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 deletions (19DEL) or exon 21 (L858R) substitution mutations, accompanied by central nervous system (CNS) metastases.
