White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said on Sunday that President Donald Trump and his team see no reason for an interest rate increase, but will fully back any decision made by Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh and his committee.
In an interview with CNN, Hassett affirmed, "Whatever decision they make, we'll support them one hundred percent."
Hassett noted that neither he nor Trump believes there is justification for a rate hike at this time. Earlier, during a stop in Ireland, Trump responded "I don't know" when asked if he expected the Fed to raise rates at its upcoming meeting.
