Authorities in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, have released an official clarification regarding a viral online claim that a young woman's entire family had their subsistence allowance revoked due to her trip to Hong Kong for a concert.

According to an official notice issued on September 7 by the Social Affairs Administration Bureau of the Ganzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, the story first surfaced on social media and quickly drew widespread public attention. The bureau stated that it reacted promptly by establishing a dedicated task force to carry out a full investigation.

The individual in question, identified as a resident surnamed Huang, triggered a dynamic monitoring alert for subsistence allowance recipients when she traveled to Hong Kong on her own to attend a concert. Upon detecting the alert, community officials promptly contacted her to explain the relevant policies and remind her of the regulations. Concerned that the family's allowance could be endangered by this situation, her relatives took to the internet to post about it, hoping to seek assistance.

The bureau confirmed that it is currently conducting a thorough review of the online claims and the family's actual circumstances. It added that any follow-up actions will be handled strictly in accordance with laws and regulations once the verification process is complete.
