Motorists are urged to fill up their tanks as the latest fuel price adjustment takes effect at midnight tonight, marking the 18th revision of the year for refined oil products. Based on the pricing mechanism, this evening's adjustment ushers in September's first price change, with expectations pointing to a substantial increase of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and visit petrol stations before the deadline.

The price of fuel in 2026 has already surged by over 1.32 yuan per liter, and tonight's increase is poised to amplify the financial burden on vehicle owners. Following the previous hike that raised costs by more than 0.29 yuan per liter, this year has witnessed 11 price increases against only 5 decreases. The cumulative surge of 1.32 yuan per liter during the first eight months reflects a persistent upward trend, fueled by international markets closing with a robust gain of over 3.25% yesterday, accelerating the upward momentum.

Driven by the continued climb in global oil prices, the crude oil change rate has reached 5.89%, projecting an increase of 330 yuan per ton. Based on this trajectory, gasoline and diesel prices are expected to rise between 0.25 yuan and 0.30 yuan per liter. With less than 20 hours remaining until the adjustment, the new prices will take effect starting September 12th.

Following this adjustment, 95-octane gasoline is inching closer to the "9 yuan era." Currently, most regions have already seen 95-octane prices climb to 8.60 yuan per liter. With tonight's expected increase of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter, tomorrow's prices for 95-octane fuel will approach the 9 yuan threshold. Please note that the figures cited are based on institutional forecasts and projections, and the final adjustment magnitude will be subject to official announcements. Below are several fuel-saving tips recommended for drivers to keep in mind.
