Starting September 1st, a fresh set of 59 mandatory national standards and 375 recommended national standards will officially come into force, according to an announcement from the State Administration for Market Regulation on August 31st. These newly implemented standards span key sectors including household appliances, intelligent robot control, smart terminal software platforms, and e-commerce. Their purpose is to provide robust technical groundwork that supports high-quality industrial growth, enhances product quality, and contributes to better meeting the daily needs of consumers.

Among the mandatory standards, the "Health Technical Specification for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" sets out comprehensive requirements related to health technologies, covering specific indicators such as ultraviolet leakage levels and noise output. Another mandatory standard, the "Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Specification for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances," establishes requirements for energy efficiency and environmental protection across the entire lifecycle of these products, including their production, installation, and recycling phases, as well as the performance of the products themselves. The introduction of these two standards is expected to encourage the home appliance industry to place greater emphasis on user health, hygiene, and energy-saving practices, thereby elevating product quality and safeguarding consumer rights.

On the recommended standards front, the "Overall Architecture for Intelligent Robot Control Systems" defines the general framework of such systems, detailing the logical structure and primary functions of the hardware, operating system, middleware, and algorithm layers. Implementing this standard will help streamline the development and deployment of intelligent robot control systems in China, fostering the practical application of related technologies and products. Meanwhile, the "Technical Requirements for Smart Terminal Software Platforms - Part 1: Operating System" outlines the framework of the operating system for these platforms, including standards for the kernel, runtime environment, and system services. This will facilitate the delivery of smarter, more convenient services for people's everyday work and daily life through smart terminals.

In the field of e-commerce, the "Guidelines for Evaluating the Word-of-Mouth Index of E-commerce Products" stipulates the fundamental principles, assessment metrics, and data requirements for calculating consumer reputation scores. This standard is designed to assist shoppers in making well-informed purchasing decisions and to strengthen the protection of consumer interests. Additionally, two recommended standards concerning down and feathers have been introduced. The first, "Down and Feather," specifies product classification and appearance characteristics, while the second, "Test Methods for Down and Feather," details procedures for sampling, component analysis, and key indicator testing for both washed and unwashed materials. Together, these standards aim to enhance the accuracy of product testing and promote the high-quality advancement of the down and feather industry.
