At its autumn flagship launch event on September 7, Xiaomi Group introduced an extensive lineup of new products, headlined by four new vehicles under the Pengcheng series and two flagship devices powered by the proprietary Xuanjie O3 processor. The event marked a significant expansion of Xiaomi's "Human x Car x Home" full-scene ecosystem, showcasing the company's latest breakthroughs in self-developed core technologies.
Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun unveiled the Pengcheng N70 Pro, N70 Max, N90 Max, and a new N90 Max Explorer Edition, alongside the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max. The Pengcheng series, built on Xiaomi's Kunlun technology architecture, introduces an industry-first "intelligent transformable large space" concept, creating a brand-new category for the smart mobility era that is independently proposed by a Chinese brand.
The two Xuanjie devices debut with the Xuanjie O3 processor, currently the most powerful mobile processor on the market. The Xiaomi 18 Fold marks the first time Xiaomi has combined its three major self-developed technologies - the Xuanjie O3 chip, HyperOS 4, and the Xiaomi MiMo on-device large model - in a single terminal. Lei Jun emphasized that Xiaomi, as a technology company spanning smartphones, automobiles, and home appliances, will continue to increase investment in core technology R&D and adhere to the "Human x Car x Home" strategy.
Pricing and Launch Details
The four Pengcheng models are now officially on sale: the Pengcheng N70 Pro starts at 209,900 yuan, the N70 Max at 239,900 yuan, the N90 Max at 269,900 yuan, and the N90 Max Explorer Edition at 299,900 yuan, with sales opening at 10 PM on September 7. The Xiaomi 18 Fold is priced from 10,999 yuan and will go on sale September 10, while the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max starts at 4,799 yuan, with a national subsidy price of 4,299 yuan, and is now available for purchase.
During the initial sales period, the N70 Pro includes launch benefits worth 63,000 yuan, such as front rotating seats, Nappa leather, wheel and paint selection vouchers, and lifetime free HAD assisted driving. The N70 Max adds benefits totaling 67,000 yuan, including an independent compressor refrigerator and anti-glare driver-side mirror. The N90 Max offers 81,000 yuan in benefits, including second-row zero-gravity seats, while the N90 Max Explorer Edition provides 43,000 yuan in benefits like electric running boards and wheel/paint vouchers.
The Pengcheng Family Takes Shape
Following July's technology conference that introduced the Kunlun architecture and the first Pengcheng model, the September event focused on the N70 series and the new N90 Max Explorer Edition. The Pengcheng N70 is a mainstream SUV measuring 4,960mm in length with a 2,950mm wheelbase, offering the same intelligent transformable large space as the N90 series, including a face-to-face seating mode. The five-seat layout provides up to 1,410mm of second-row space, and with the rear seats folded, the trunk expands to 2,425 liters, accommodating 38 20-inch suitcases. All versions come standard with a "refrigerator, TV, and sofa" configuration, with the Max version featuring the Xiaomi Star String audio system.
The N70 lineup emphasizes long range: the Pro version uses a 52kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with a CLTC pure electric range of 351km and combined range of 1,351km, while the Max version's 76kWh ternary lithium battery achieves a CLTC pure electric range of 505km, making it the longest-range extended-range EV on the market. Both versions feature Xiaomi's 1.5T range extender with fuel consumption of 5.7L/100km (Pro) and 6.1L/100km (Max), and compatibility with 92, 95, and 98 octane fuel. The Max additionally includes high-performance all-wheel drive, air suspension, continuous damping control, HUD, and a 25-speaker premium audio system.
In terms of intelligence, all N70 models are fully equipped with a quad-domain control module, Qualcomm 4nm flagship SoC, NVIDIA Thor-U assisted driving chip, lidar, 4D millimeter-wave radar, and lifetime free HAD. The HyperOS smart cockpit supports five-screen interaction, and the new Super Xiao Ai covers 95% of vehicle control functions. Safety features include an armored cage body with 91.3% high-strength steel and aluminum, 2200MPa ultra-strong steel at 14 key positions, nine airbags, and emergency water-floating capability. The battery packs in the N70 Max and N90 Max have passed extreme tests including 500J bottom impacts, water fording, and 55°C full-charge needle puncture without thermal runaway. Xiaomi also launched the "Dragon Armor Battery Assurance Plan" offering lifetime warranty and new-car replacement in case of fire.
The N90 Max Explorer Edition represents Xiaomi's bold exploration of space. Built on the N90 Max, which features a larger body with seven seats and a combined range of 1,705km, the Explorer Edition introduces a new large five-seat layout with the industry's only original-design electric pop-up roof for SUVs. When raised, the interior transforms into a two-level LOFT with 2,110mm x 985mm of upper space, 2.29 meters of headroom, and 200kg load capacity, creating what Lei Jun described as "a truly movable house." The pop-up roof underwent rigorous testing including 44km/h rollover and 10,000 open-close cycles. Additional features include one-touch electric bed conversion, wood-grain aluminum flooring, floor heating, an independent compressor refrigerator, and smart electric doors.
With these four models, the Pengcheng "intelligent transformable large space SUV" series has formed a complete product matrix. Lei Jun stated that vehicles should not just be transportation but can become part of living space, "carrying work and passion, connecting career and family, accommodating dreams and distant horizons."
Three Chips Power the AI Ecosystem
On August 24, Xiaomi unveiled the next generation of Xuanjie chips: the AI flagship SoC Xuanjie O3, high-bandwidth AI accelerator Xuanjie O100, and smart driving high-compute AI chip Xuanjie D100. Together, these three chips form the advanced AI computing foundation for Xiaomi's full ecosystem, representing breakthroughs in high energy efficiency, high bandwidth, and high computing power.
At the September event, Lei Jun officially launched two devices powered by the Xuanjie O3: the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max. The 18 Fold, a "mid-fold" flagship, is Xiaomi's most advanced smartphone to date, developed over 20 months with more than 190 folding-related patents. It features the new Dragon Bone hinge with a three-link structure and 7-series aluminum alloy, passing over 80,000 drop tests. The device achieves a global-leading crease depth of less than 30μm and is the industry's first to mass-produce dual-layer UTG ultra-thin glass. It also debuts next-generation LPDDR6 memory, with Changxin Storage supplying the first domestic LPDDR6 for flagship terminals.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is a comprehensive flagship with a 7.58-inch inner screen and 5.38-inch outer screen, both using Xiaomi's super pixel technology. It features a Leica triple camera system with a 200MP main sensor and 3.5x periscope telephoto, supporting simultaneous dual-screen shooting. The 6,000mAh stacked battery supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Goodix Technology solutions are integrated, including an independent security chip with high-level certifications, touch control, ultra-narrow side fingerprint sensor, and a CoolPWM smart audio amplifier for premium sound quality.
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max, also powered by the Xuanjie O3 and HyperOS 4, achieves an AnTuTu score of 5.61 million - the highest ever for an Android tablet - thanks to its form factor and new capillary heat dissipation structure. It supports WPS for Pad, professional version of CapCut, and other productivity software, along with the Super Xiao Ai office suite and desktop-level expansion capabilities.
With these launches, the Xuanjie O3 has entered mass production. Lei Jun disclosed that the Xuanjie O100 and Xuanjie D100 will be commercially available next year, positioning Xiaomi among the very few companies globally that develop smartphone SoCs, AI accelerator chips, and smart driving chips simultaneously. He acknowledged that Xiaomi is still a newcomer in chips but expressed confidence: "No matter how many difficulties lie ahead, we believe that as long as we start chasing, we are on the road to winning."
A Systematic Breakthrough in Self-Developed Technology
In 2020, on Xiaomi's tenth anniversary, Lei Jun established "technology first" as a core principle, beginning the company's transformation from an internet company to a hardcore technology firm. A year later, Xiaomi announced its entry into smart EVs and restarted large-scale chip development, pledging over 100 billion yuan in core technology investment over five years. To date, Xiaomi has invested 105.5 billion yuan in core technology, with 21 billion yuan allocated to chips alone over a planned 500 billion yuan, 10-year commitment.

In the automotive sector, Xiaomi has delivered over 800,000 vehicles as of September 7 - a record for Chinese new-energy vehicle startups, achieved in just 29 months. The Pengcheng series, built on the Kunlun architecture, addresses common pain points of traditional extended-range vehicles with its disruptive intelligent transformable large space.
