Sinopec Oilfield Service Corporation (SINOPEC SSC, HKEX: 01033) has disclosed that Chairman and Executive Director Mr. Wu Baizhi submitted his written resignation to the Board, citing work-related adjustments. His departure from all corporate posts—including Chairman of the Board, Legal Representative, Executive Director, Chief Officer of the Strategy Committee and member of the Nomination Committee—will take effect on 3 September 2026.
Mr. Wu confirmed he has no disagreements with the Board and is unaware of any matters requiring shareholder attention. The Board acknowledged his “hard work and outstanding contributions to the high-quality development” of the company.
Governance continuity is expected to remain intact. The Board will retain sufficient membership to meet statutory requirements after the resignation. Until a new Chairman is elected, General Manager Mr. Zhang Jiankuo will temporarily serve as the company’s Legal Representative.
SINOPEC SSC stated that it will proceed with the election of a new Chairman “as soon as possible” in accordance with legal and Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing rules, and will issue a separate announcement upon completion of the process.
As of the announcement date (3 September 2026), the Board consists of eight directors: one Executive Director (Mr. Zhang Jiankuo), three Non-Executive Directors (Mr. Wang Minsheng, Ms. Zhang Lili, Mr. Du Kun), three Independent Non-Executive Directors (Mr. Zheng Weijun, Mr. Wang Pencheng, Ms. Liu Jiangning) and one Employee Representative Director (Mr. Li Lizhi).
