On September 10th, an ultra-large methanol dual-fuel container vessel, named "Eastern Elegance," set out for sea trials from the new outfitting base of COSCO Shipping Kawasaki in Chongchuan District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. This ship, with a capacity of 24,000 TEUs, was independently developed, designed, and constructed by China.

The "Eastern Elegance" measures 399.99 meters in length overall, with a beam of 61.3 meters and a molded depth of 33.2 meters. It boasts a maximum container capacity of 24,168 standard units and a deadweight tonnage of 225,000 tons. The vessel is capable of switching between green methanol and traditional fuel modes. When utilizing green methanol, each ship can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 150,000 tons annually.
