Two Chinese pharmaceutical companies have lined up listings in Hong Kong, as the sector forms the next wave of offerings in the city.

Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals has applied for a Hong Kong listing, according to an exchange filling on Thursday. No details regarding the timeline or size of the offering were provided.

The company is primarily engaged in research, development, production and sales of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, with a focus on innovative drugs.

Salubris Pharmaceuticals, which is already listed in Shenzhen, said first-half net profit rose 4.0% from a year earlier to 390.5 million yuan, equivalent to US$58.1 million.

Separately, Genscript Biotech said Friday it plans to spin off nonwholly owned subsidiary Probio Technology, which operates the group's biologics and advanced therapy contract research, development and manufacturing organization services.

Hong Kong-listed Genscript Biotech reported accelerating demand for AI-enabled drug discovery services in its earnings release last month.

Hong Kong has become one of the world's most active listing venues in recent years. The exchange has been rolling out measures to boost the attractiveness of the market for listings. That coincides with a surge of high-tech companies looking to tap the Hong Kong market, including Chinese companies that are already listed in mainland China.

In the first seven months of 2026, IPO fundraising reached 328.21 billion Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to US$41.86 billion, more than double the amount raised a year earlier, according to the city's exchange operator.
