BorgWarner's (BWA) foundational product portfolio supports a durable earnings base, while its turbine generator system offers a new growth opportunity in AI data center infrastructure, RBC Capital Markets said in a note emailed Tuesday.

The company holds a leading global position in turbochargers and the 52% North America turbocharger penetration rate remains below European and Chinese levels, suggesting a multiyear runway for attach rate convergence, the investment firm said.

With 2 gigawatts of manufacturing capacity already online in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the company has a meaningful timing advantage over legacy turbine OEMs that are offering deliveries after 2030, according to the note.

RBC said it expects turbine revenue to reach approximately $900 million by 2030 and views further capacity expansion as a key near-term catalyst.

The firm also said it expects BorgWarner's European manufacturing footprint to make it a natural supply partner for Chinese OEMs seeking localization abroad, offering an incremental growth opportunity.

RBC Capital Markets initiated coverage of BorgWarner with an outperform rating and a price target of $87.
