DeepSeek plans to utilize at least 160,000 Huawei Ascend 950DT chips at a data center being built in Inner Mongolia, China, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The timeline for the installation has not been set and will depend on Huawei's production capacity, the report said, citing the sources.
While DeepSeek attempted to train its previous AI models using Huawei's technology, the Chinese AI pioneer has so far utilized Nvidia accelerators, the report said.
DeepSeek and Huawei did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
