Worley (ASX:WOR) will provide engineering services for Belgian clean-tech firm D-CRBN's new renewable syngas demonstration plant in Belgium, according to a Wednesday statement.

The plant will produce syngas using D-CRBN's plasma technology, which relies on electricity to convert carbon dioxide and biomethane into renewable syngas, which can then be used to produce lower-carbon fuels, plastics, and chemicals.

The demonstration plant will produce 200 tonnes of renewable syngas per year and support a future commercial plant with an annual capacity of about 10,000 tonnes.

Worley said it will deliver the plant's design, along with safety and cost studies for construction.

The company's shares gained 2% in recent Wednesday trade.
