RBA Set to Announce Fourth Rate Hike, Says JPMorgan

0417 GMT - JPMorgan is the latest economic forecaster to adopt the view that the Reserve Bank of Australia is set to announce a fourth interest-rate increase in this cycle at the end of September. Recent hawkish commentary by senior RBA officials "suggests something has shifted," says Ben Jarman, chief economist for Australia at JPMorgan. The RBA appears worried about elevated oil prices, surging AI investment and the supply potential of the economy, he says. These will remain concerns at month-end, he adds. JPM expects a 25-basis-point rate increase on Sept. 29 to 4.60%.
