Republican Majority Leader John Thune Gets Booed at GOP Convention in Dallas

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R., S.D.) was the target of some boos after President Trump recognized his presence in a Dallas arena where Republicans are gathered for a midterm convention.
"John is working hard," Trump said, as he sought to tone down the booing. "He's got great opposition." The president added that Thune would have "great success" in the future. Trump has been critical of Thune for not managing to get his SAVE America Act through the Senate.
The bill, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote among other provisions, would need 60 votes to advance. Thune argues he doesn't have the votes.
