Japan-based semiconductor memory manufacturer Kioxia Holdings (TYO:285A) has dismissed the prospect of deeper manufacturing ties with a rival and stakeholder, SK hynix (KRX:000660), Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing Chief Executive Hiroo Ota.

The two memory chipmakers are expanding production capacity to meet high-order demand from artificial intelligence service providers, fuelling double-and triple-digit price increases.

The CEO said deeper ties would face antitrust hurdles and complicate ongoing operations at its jointly owned production facilities with Sandisk Corp.
