Booking (BKNG) lost its legal battle against the European Union's antitrust veto of the company's acquisition of Etraveli Group, with the Luxembourg-based General Court saying Wednesday the deal is "incompatible with the internal market and the EEA agreement."

Booking had sought the annulment of a European Commission decision from September 2023 against the acquisition, according to a filing from the General Court.

The court dismissed the company's action, ordered it to bear own costs and also pay those of the EC, and ordered Etraveli to also bear its own costs, the filing showed.
