Axis Bank (NSE:AXISBANK, BOM:532215) expects investments in artificial intelligence and technology to support business growth without requiring staff additions at the same pace, CEO Amitabh Chaudhry said in an interview with Bloomberg Television.

The lender has already seen productivity gains, opening about 400 branches in fiscal 2026 while its net headcount fell 3% to more than 101,000 employees, according to its annual report.
