Eurozone Government Bond Yield Spreads Test Wider Levels

0544 GMT - Eurozone government bond yield spreads are testing the upper end of Societe Generale rates strategists' forecast ranges, driven by persistent geopolitical uncertainty and elevated oil and gas prices, they say in a note. These drivers are accompanied by the global focus on growing sovereign debt, they say. "Upcoming 2027 budget negotiations will be a key risk across EGBs, potentially refocusing investor attention on fiscal consolidation challenges," they say. While outright yield levels and spreads look attractive and provide good entry points, investors are cautious to add risk, according to the French bank's rates strategists.
