Nvidia (NVDA) has expanded its CUDA-Q open source platform with CUDA-Q Logical, an orchestration layer developed for fault-tolerant quantum computing, the company said Monday.

The logical qubits within the layer allow systems to overcome the errors inherent in physical qubits, enabling larger computations needed for practical applications, such as drug discovery, financial modeling and materials development.

CUDA-Q Logical is currently available through the GitHub platform, the company said.

In a separate statement, Infleqtion (INFQ) said it was able to build and validate a high-rate quantum error correction code using an early access version of CUBA-Q Logical, representing a five-fold improvement in code rate over the surface-code approach used for comparison.
